HDMI - a new wireless standard for home cinema

HDMI is a new type of connection to all new televisions modern, advanced home theater amplifier, and many computer monitors found. But why is it important to buy devices with HDMI connections, and how much you need to spend on HDMI cables?

HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface, and is designed to be a substitute for the interface-compatible with DVI displays on computer monitors. The standard called for a single cable that could bring high-definitionVideo streams up to eight digital audio channels and a single consumer electronic control signal. Its main purpose, the connection between all standard AV equipment and computer shows consumers had become. Today, all new televisions and projectors will be at least one HDMI connection and usually get the most high-definition video is coming.

Perhaps the most important part of the HDMI specification is support for HDCP, High-bandwidth Digital Copy Protection. Protected by HDCPContent such as Blu-ray players can be decrypted only by the HDCP license, and all devices that connect the player to the name, it must also be HDCP-certified, or the player will only output a signal to standard definition. For this reason, when purchasing high-definition projectors, televisions and other devices, it is better to have HDMI and HDCP are unaudited.

Be careful when you connect your home theater system. You can not have HDMI connection to your amplifier, andthen a component connection to the projector, such as HDCP, the player to send a high-definition video signal from the last connection is not to prevent over HDMI. However, you can connect to Blu-ray or cable TV via HDMI and use a separate port, such as sending a digital optical cable, audio to your amp.

HDMI carries both audio and video. This means that one cable is needed for a TV to Blu-ray player or cable box. IfA separate home cinema amplifier, then the player and cable box can be first and then the other amplifier with an HDMI cable connected to the TV. In this configuration, the amplifier of the audio channels and passes the video channel on the TV. As one approaches, look for a high quality home theater amplifier, with more HDMI inputs for all sources of support HDCP.

Finally, a few words about the HDMI cable to buy. The prices of HDMI cables can varyenormously, with some cable brands cost 10 times the price of the same length of cable without marking. In practice, the quality of the HDMI cable has very little impact on the quality of audio and video are transmitted through it. Unlike the previous standard home-video cable, HDMI is a fully digital connection, so that the signals are much more resistant to interference and noise. For small runs, nearly all HDMI cables will be fine. Longer lengths may be more prone to failure due to HDCP connectionsignal loss, so consider yourself a bit 'more about this, but away from the more expensive brands because they provide little additional benefit.
